Obviously unbeknown to us 1989 was the last year my family was complete and was a pretty good one. First proper boyfriend, some great music about and a lovely summer..

Re: 1989 - Second Summer of Love
Wasn't the '89 summer another scorcher? I recall my sister constantly coming home fr 24 hr raves in the Thames Valley.

Later in September I went to a secret Stone Roses gig in Shrewsbury right at the height of their hype. Only about 200 people & stood literally 2m away from the band that were seriously cooking.

Discovering Jane's Addiction where Perry Farrell came out wearing a stripey body stocking, long purple dreads, barefoot, huge straw hat & chugging a bottle of wine.
Legendary night.

Little known Nirvana also supported Tad (never to be heard of again). Again only 2m away from the band.

For some reason I can't recall any West Ham from about 1986 to 1994 so totally missed the 1989 debacle.
Must have been pretty distracted.

Danny Wilson had a good record out called The Second Summer Of Love. It went "Acid on the radio, acid in the brain. Acid everywhere you go go, acid in the rain.
